Remember, to “read” a fraction, think of it as:
1/10 = “1 out of 10”
4/10 = “4 out of 10”
Use objects in your house to help you see this eg buttons or crayons. Count out 10 and then put them into piles. If you count out 5 out of 10 (5/10) what else could this fraction be called?
