Maths starter activity:
As before, write down your score in the back of your maths book. Can you beat your best score? Hopefully, by now you are improving on the x3 and x4 tables. Perhaps, you could now try the x8 (which is just double x4) or the x6 table (which is just double x3). Don’t forget to learn your division tables too: if 3 x4 = 12, then 12 ÷ 3 = 4.
Today you have a number of challenge questions to solve. You could talk these through with someone and then have a go…

GOAL: Write a Newspaper Report
Yesterday you looked at the features in a newspaper report. Today, I’d like you to write a newspaper report that includes some of these features. It is going to be about an event that happened in Paris last year. Its most famous cathedral – Notre Dame – caught fire. Your newspaper report needs to be dated 16th April 2019. The newspaper could be called “Le Monde” or “Le Parisien”.
