Get in Touch

Google Classroom

Below, you can view our school 'Continuation of Learning Policy', which details what you can expect from Home Learning this half term. We have worked hard to improve and develop our offer since the lockdown in March last year, and we will therefore be using Google Classroom as our learning platform for Years 1-6, whilst EYFS will continue using Tapestry. Logins for Google Classroom have been attached to the pack which you have collected/ will be collecting from school. Google Classroom is simple to use, and allows us to communicate more effectively with the children. As well as a daily Loom video for English and a daily Loom video for Maths, teachers will be setting tasks, reading their class novel to the children and organising a weekly Google Meet session, which will allow teachers to discuss with children how they are getting on, as well as allowing children to see one another and share their learning.

Step-by-step parent instructions on how to access and use Google Classroom can be downloaded below. We have also added a useful Parent Guide.

We would suggest that after accessing your child's virtual classroom, you and your child familiarise yourselves with the platform together. This is where teachers will set work and send a daily message within the class stream. There will be a range of 'assignments' posted and we will ask for one task per week to be completed and submitted via the platform (teachers will make it clear which piece of work they wish you to do this for). This is easy to do. Firstly, select the assignment. Then, complete the work either on the computer or on paper. Following this, click on 'Add or create'. You can then upload the document, or a photo of the work- whichever is easier. Finally, simply click 'Submit'.

Tasks (assignments) for the children to complete will be posted on a daily basis. If you miss any, do not worry as they remain in the classroom. A weekly timetable will be posted in the classroom every Monday, so that you are aware of what is coming up.

To access the work each day, head to the 'Classwork' section of Google Classroom, and find the folder for that day.
