Get in Touch

Thursday

Good morning year 6,

I hope that you had a good day yesterday. Here is your work for today:

Maths - GOAL: To determine whether to round up or down after division

For this you will be answering word problems, which will require you to decide whether you should round up or down to properly answer the question. For example: There are 154 children and 12 adults on a school trip. Each bus can carry 52 passengers. How many buses will be needed for the trip?

154 + 12 = 166

166 / 52 = 3 remainder 10 (3 x 52 = 156)

4 buses will be needed.

Literacy -  GOAL: To write a recount about Michael's school days

I would like you to write a recount about Michael's school days. You may have to listen to Chapter 1 again to help you with this. Read the planning sheet first.

Finally, listen to the Loom recording of Chapter 3 - Ship's Log from Kensuke's Kingdom.

Enjoy your home learning.

Mrs Betteley
