Handwriting
Please do 10 - 15 minutes handwriting each day. Use the PowerPoint below to see how to form each of the letters. Letters for each day can be found on the timetable.
Maths
Maths this week is all about shape. Watch the video and then have a go at the activity sheet included.
EXTRA CHALLENGE – find 6 different 3D objects from around your house. What 2D shapes can you see hiding within the 3D shape? Can you sort these shapes? How have you sorted them?
Literacy/Topic
Monday - noun or verb
Work through the PowerPoint then have a go at the activity sheet.
Tuesday - Using punctuation
Have a look at the picture and write some sentences about it. Make sure you remember capital letters, finger spaces and full stops. Can you include nouns and verbs in your sentences too?
Can you underline any nouns in blue?
Can you underline and verbs in orange?
Correct any mistakes you find in your sentences with red.
Wednesday - Create a 'book review' for the story.
This week we are reading the book - The Naughty Bus. If you have the book then read it with an adult at home and talk about it. Then have a go at completing the book review template. I have included a YouTube link to the video incase you don't have the book available.
Thursday - Create a character description for the naughty bus.
Begin by drawing a picture of The Naughty Bus. Think of as many words to describe the naughty bus as you can and write the words around the image or create a list underneath your picture.
Some things to think about:
How the Bus looks
His characteristics
His behaviourst
Once you have created your list, use some of your words to write sentences to describe The Naughty Bus.
Friday - THE NAUGHTY BUS HAS ESCAPED! Help create a WANTED poster to help capture him.
Use the template below or create your own to make a WANTED poster to catch The Naughty Bus. It must include and image and an accurate description of him.
Science - Autumn
Go on an Autumn wander in the garden. Collect a selection of Autumn materials and create an Autumn picture using all the materials you have created. You can do this on paper, or in the style of the artist Andy Goldsworthy.
Take note of all the Autumn things you can see and complete the following activity sheet.
PSHE - A good friend
Think about how you are a good friend to others and think about how others can be a good friend to you. Design your own friend using the tempate provided. Pick the qualitites you think are important when making a new friend. For each quality you pick write a sentence to explain why you have chosen this quality.
E.G. I have chosen honest so that when we play games they will take turns and play nicely with me.
