We want children to learn, to lead and to make a difference

Quinton Primary School currently caters for children from the ages of 3 to 11 years with an exceptional Foundation Stage classroom for Reception and Nursery children.

The school is set in pleasant grounds with a large playing field and ample playground facilities for the children with a separate play area for pupils in the Foundation Stage. The school is well equipped with resources to support your child’s learning. Every year group has its own computer equipment including an interactive whiteboard. There are twenty laptops for the children to work with and these are readily available for each class. We have a large hall which is used for PE, assemblies and other curricular and extra-curricular school functions. We provide a broad and balanced curriculum which meets the legal requirements and caters for the widely differing needs of all our children. The school is founded on positive relationships between teachers, children and parent/carers. We aim to provide a welcoming, caring and happy atmosphere in which all of our children are valued and who work to achieve their full potential in all aspects of school life.

In 2010, the school had 71 children on roll, with a limit of 105.  Since then we have gone from strength to strength and now have 210 children on roll with numbers set to continue to rise over the next couple of years.  With a recent increase in our official PAN (Pupil Admission Number) we will soon grow to our maximum of 210. As of from September 2014, there were no longer any split age group classes.

Teaching assistants are trained in specific intervention strategies and are regularly moved around, depending on where support may be needed in order to maximise the impact on the children’s learning.

We believe that we are:
  • An achieving school
  • A learning school
  • An inclusive school
  • A forward thinking school
  • A developing school
We believe in:
  • Setting high expectations and making children feel secure and confident
  • Building on what the children already know
  • Structuring the curriculum to make it enjoyable, challenging and stimulating
  • Letting children assess their own progress, set their own goals and reflect on their learning

At Quinton Primary School we are passionate about having happy children who can’t wait to come to school, each day, with a smile on their face and the motivation to be the very best they can.

We are dedicated to the development and education of the individual child and have created a secure, inspirational learning environment to maximise the children’s thirst for knowledge and their desire to develop transferable skills. We have high expectations for all and strive to provide an outstanding education by encouraging every child to achieve his or her potential in all aspects of school life.

We instil in pupils a sense of decency, commitment, self-reliance, responsibility, respect for others and a healthy self-esteem.

This is achieved by creating an atmosphere that is purposeful and facilitates the achievement of our aims by forming the best possible relationships between teachers, children, parents and others involved in their education.

We care for each child as a valued member of the school community, irrespective of their gender, race, religion or ability. I would hope that this gives you a flavour of our remarkable school, however, nothing compares to visiting the school itself, where you will be able to soak up our wonderful atmosphere and see, at first hand, just what our children think.

If you want to know more, just contact the school – there is something very special going on here and we love it!
