Worldviews and British Values
Today we welcommed Assa, our Buddhist speaker, into our school for an assembly. Assa spoke to the children about the origins of the Buddha, how he was born a prince and after seeking to witness death, old age and sickness, he was able to obtain enlightenment. She spoke about where she is taught about Buddhism, and explained that the monks who teach her wear one piece of cloth which is long enought to wrap around their bodies to create clothing. Assa also bought with her, 3 different types of Buddha statues, all of which are similar but have slightly different strengths of meaning. She shows us how she greeted the Buddha, and some children related this to how Muslims pray, on the ground. She also invited everyone to join her in some meditation. The children asked lot of questions to help them to understand the reasons behind why she follows this worldview and Assa has even invited us to The Forest Hermitage to join in with a meditation session!

Speed Stacking County Final
Last Friday, twelve of our Year 3 and 4 children attended the County Final Speed Stacking event, which they qualified for before Christmas. Over the course of the afternoon, the children rotated around four stations: relay, pair stacking, practice and match. Although they didn’t win on the day, they were incredibly supportive of one another and demonstrated excellent concentration and teamwork throughout the event.
We were especially impressed by their determination in the run-up to the competition, with many of the children practising a great deal at home. They did us proud! A big thank you also to all the parents who supported the event.

Quinton Primary School is a village school about six miles from Stratford-upon-Avon. It has grown in size since September 2010 and, as a result of extensions to the existing building in the summer of 2014, is now single form entry with in excess of 240 children on roll.
Our latest successful Ofsted in June 2022 (published in September 2022) has confirmed that we continue to have a “good” school with high standards where both children and staff are highly motivated to do their very best. We have a school where our key priority is happy children who we want to look back on their school days as the best days of their lives.
