Emergency Closure

Quinton Primary School > Parents > Emergency Closure

At Quinton Primary School, we always strive to keep the school open; however, in rare circumstances, such as severe weather, power failures, or other unforeseen events, we may need to close for the safety of our pupils and staff.

How We Will Inform You

If the school needs to close unexpectedly, we will communicate this as quickly as possible through:
✅ Reach More Parents – A message will be sent via our main communication app.
✅ School Website – Updates will be posted on our homepage.
✅ Local Radio & Council Alerts – We may notify local stations and authorities where applicable.

Severe Weather Arrangements

In cases of extreme weather (e.g., heavy snow), we will assess the situation early in the morning. If closure is necessary, we will aim to inform parents by 7:30 AM. If the school remains open but conditions worsen during the day, we may need to close early, and parents will be contacted to collect their children.

What to Do If School Closes

  • Please check Reach More Parents and the school website regularly for updates.
  • Ensure the school has your most up-to-date contact details to receive notifications.
  • Make necessary arrangements for childcare in case of unexpected closures.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in these situations. If you have any questions, please contact the school office.
