At Quinton Primary School, the health and well-being of our pupils are a top priority. We have clear procedures in place to support children with medical conditions and to manage illness during the school day.
Illness & Absence
If your child is unwell, we ask that you keep them at home to prevent the spread of illness. Please inform the school office as soon as possible if your child will be absent. For sickness and diarrhoea, children should remain at home for at least 48 hours after their last symptoms. Visit https://www.nhs.uk/live-well/is-my-child-too-ill-for-school/ to find out more.

Medical Conditions & Care Plans
We work closely with families to support children with medical conditions such as asthma, allergies, diabetes, or epilepsy. If your child has a long-term medical condition, please inform us so that we can create an Individual Healthcare Plan (IHP) tailored to their needs.
First Aid & Emergencies
Our staff are trained in first aid and will care for children who become unwell or injured at school. In the event of a more serious incident, parents/carers will be contacted immediately, and emergency services will be called if necessary.
For further details, please refer to our Medical Policy or contact the school office.
