PSHE Enrichment Day

Quinton Primary School > Curriculum > Curriculum Enrichment > PSHE Enrichment Day

Our PSHE day began with a thoughtful and creative art activity linked to Children’s Mental Health Week. The children designed and created their own personal islands, carefully filling them with objects, symbols and special places that represented the people, communities and environments where they feel happiest, safest and most connected. This gave the children a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the importance of belonging and to share their ideas with one another. Afterwards, everyone enjoyed some well-deserved time to relax together with a warm cup of hot chocolate, a biscuit and plenty of cheerful conversation in the calm and welcoming atmosphere of the staff room.

In the afternoon, the children were invited to our special ‘spa’ experience, where the intervention room had been transformed into a peaceful and soothing space. Surrounded by fairy lights and calming zen music, they enjoyed face masks and took part in a guided meditation session designed to help them unwind and focus on mindfulness. We ended the day by learning all about how debates are held in the Houses of Parliament, discussing the importance of listening respectfully and presenting clear arguments. The children then took part in their own lively and thoughtful debate, confidently sharing their opinions and responding to the ideas of others.
