Homework Expectations

In Year 3, children are expected to read at least three times a week at home in order to develop their fluency, comprehension and vocabulary. All children have a homework diary in which they should record which page of their book they are up to. This diary will be checked weekly to ensure children are completing their reading homework.

In addition to this, children receive a page of math’s homework per week. This goes home on a Tuesday and must be back in school the following Monday.  If math’s homework is not handed in on time then children can complete this in homework club on Monday lunchtime.

During Year 3, all children will be expected to know the following times tables: x2, x3, x4, x5, x8 and x10. These will be tested regularly to ensure they have quick responses. Please practise these with your children.
